Pylon racing offers a new level of excitement for RC flyers. When you tire of boring the same old holes in the sky, come and give the races a try. If you have never flown in tight formation around the pylons, you don't know what kind of excitement you are missing. All local racing action consists of handicapped events which are hosted by the Midwest Pylon League.
The Midwest Pylon League consists of a series of handicapped races which allows all types of planes to be competitive, from trainers to piped racers. The handicap system focuses on consistency rather than speed so all level of racers have an equal opportunity to compete. Races for the 2007 season will be split between the DR/CS Seven Cities Sod field, and the Kewanee flying sites. Check the schedule link below for dates at each location.
Each race date consists of a minimum of five race heats and points are gained based on your finish place. At the end of the day the top point getters are awarded modest cash prizes which are derived from the entry fee.
